There are significant changes in the Beef Cattle Show Schedules at the 2009 Indiana State Fair.
Junior Show Schedule – Angus:
Wednesday 8/05 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Stall Assignments – No cattle admitted – No trucks in the barn.
Thursday 8/06 8:00 AM to NOON Stall Assignments – Cattle admitted only at these times.
NOON to 4:00 PM No cattle admitted during these times.
3:00 PM to 5:00 PM 4-H Beef Exhibitors may complete entry paperwork
4:00 PM to 10:00 PM Stall Assignments – Cattle admitted only at these times
Friday 8/07 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM Stall Assignments – Cattle admitted only at these times
8:00 AM All 4-H Beef and Dairy Beef must be in place.
8:00 AM to 11:00 AM Entry paperwork & showmanship entries completed.
1:00 PM Check 4-H heifer registration papers – when Angus Breed is called.
Must bring original copy of registration certificate with the calf.
Saturday 8/08 8:00 AM Weigh 4-H Steers – when Angus Breed is called. Must bring original copy of registration certificate with the calf.
2:00 PM 4-H Beef Showmanship – including Junior and Intermediate Division Finals
Sunday 8/09 8:00 AM Judging 4-H Heifers – when Angus Breed is called. (Angus scheduled late in breed order)
Monday 8/10 8:00 AM Judging 4-H Steers – when Angus Breed is called (Angus scheduled last)
4:45 PM 4-H Senior Showmanship Finals
5:45 PM Supreme Champion 4-H Beef Heifer Selection
6:30 PM Grand Champion 4-H Drive – Grand Champion Steer
MIDNIGHT 4-H Beef must vacate the cattle barn.
Open Show Schedule – Angus:
Tuesday 8/11 6:00 AM to NOON All open cattle admitted. – No trucks admitted before 6:00 AM
NOON to 4:00 PM No cattle admitted during these times.
2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Check In Angus Papers – In Cattle Barn Lobby.
4:00 PM to 10:00 PM Open cattle admitted.
Wednesday 8/12 6:00 to 8:00 AM Open cattle admitted. – No trucks admitted before 6:00 AM
8:00 AM Open Angus must be stalled.
8:00 AM to 9:00 AM Final Check In Angus Papers – In Cattle Barn Lobby
Thursday 8/13 NOON Open Angus Judged.
6:00 PM All Open Show cattle must be out of the cattle barn.
Please check tattoos on all animals before leaving home to be sure they match exactly what is shown on the registration certificate. If they do not match when checked at the show – they will not be allowed to show.
Angus Fitting Rule will apply on both 4-H and Open Show Angus Breeding Cattle. It will not apply on Angus Steers at the 2009 Indiana State Fair.
